As the summer season approaches, more and more people are hanging up their beloved leather jackets in favor of something lighter and breezier. If you're like me and can't refuse the appeal of leather until colder temperatures, fret not. Leather and leather finishes can be chic year round, if styled correctly. One of my favorite ways to incorporate leather into my spring and summer wardrobe is through shorts and skirts (not form fitting though, or your thighs will feel like a mini sauna).
Touching on the recent fishnet trend, I paired my zip-up leather shorts with a lightweight cotton ruffle top and my favorite patent leather pointed toe boots. Since it's still a little chilly, this is a great combo for transitioning into shorts season. For warmer weather, pair your favorite leather shorts/skirt with a casual tee or cotton blouse. If you're not feeling the whole leather bottoms situation, there are actually a ton of cute leather tops to choose from. And who says you have to stick with black? If you're feeling particularly brave, try out a white leather look for a real summer statement.
